In addition to healthy lifestyle advice, it is beneficial to have specific screening for certain conditions. Many people are familiar with the national screening programmes, such as cervical cytology screening and breast screening and more recently bowel cancer and chlamydia screening.
However we also offer screening for patients at risk of:
Cardiovascular Disease which is the medical term for heart attacks, strokes and other diseases of the circulation
COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) more commonly known as chronic bronchitis, emphysema or bronchiectasis
Diabetes for those patients at risk
Osteoporosis is a loss of some bone material, making bones more prone to breaking (fracture). Osteoporosis mainly affects older people, but can affect anyone.
